The party was hosted on April 15, 2021, at Broadmeadows Town Hall to acknowledge Isola’s contribution to the community. The expense list revealed that the event cost $15,000 for food, $3600 for decorations, and approximately $1000 for a floral tribute.
Councillor Trevor Dance obtained the figures through a freedom of information request, which revealed that ratepayers in Melbourne’s north paid almost $20,000 for an extravagant farewell party for the outgoing chief executive of Hume City Council, Domenic Isola.
The party, held on April 15, 2021, at Broadmeadows Town Hall, included $15,000 for food, $3,600 for decorations, and about $1,000 for a floral tribute. In response to the revelation, Hume City Council’s CEO Sheena Frost clarified that Isola was not involved in the decision to host the event or the associated costs, as it was organized after his departure.
