Victoria, 28 May . From pottery classes to museum exhibitions, hot springs visits and winery lunches, an Andrews Labor Government initiative is getting people out and about enjoying the best that our state has to offer.

Minister for Industry Support and Recovery Martin Pakula today confirmed that there have been over 580,000 successful claims since the Victorian Dining and Entertainment Program launched on 29 March.

Over a quarter of entertainment claims, 28 per cent, so far are for theatre and performing arts, with popular choices including Hamilton and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Cinema purchases are close behind, accounting for 26 per cent of claims.

Live music performances have featured prominently with 13 per cent of customers claiming for gigs.

The dining rebates are available from Monday to Thursday anywhere in Victoria outside of the City of Melbourne municipality.

Hai Di Lao, Dumpling Alley, Shanghai Red and Phoenix Soars take the top four spots on the claims list for customers dining in or collecting a takeaway in person.

Almost two-thirds of claimants surveyed said the program was a key reason for making their purchase or spending more than they would have otherwise.

Businesses and customers are encouraged to get in quick to benefit from the program before it closes on Thursday 30 June or when funds run out – whichever happens first. Individuals can claim a combined total of up to $125 back.
