Brisbane, Nov 27 . Police have arrested six juveniles who face more than sixty charges following a raft of alleged property crime offences on Brisbane’s southside this morning, Sunday November 27.
Investigators will allege the group stole a maroon 2012 Toyota Kluger from a Hanover Street, MacGregor address on Wednesday November 23 allegedly using it in the commission of seven alleged robberies in Robertson, Tarragindi and Carindale today.
Investigators will allege the crimes occurred between 6am and 8.45am with the group threatening multiple people with a hammer in a bid to have them hand over their car keys.
No one was injured.
Just before 9am a resident in Pelham Street, Coorparoo observed the Toyota behaving suspiciously and contacted police. Responding officers tracked the vehicle and will allege the occupants fled at speed.
A short pursuit was authorised and police will allege the Toyota was driven into a police and civilian vehicle. An elderly female occupant of the civilian vehicle was treated for shock.
The group was then taken into custody without incident at the scene. The boys aged 12 (Inala),13 (Inala),13 (Crestmead),14 (Alexandra Hills),16 (Salisbury),16 (Inala) face more than sixty charges, including burglary, robbery with violence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation, wilful damage and evade along with other property offences.
They have been denied police bail and will appear in the Cleveland Childrens Court at a later date.
