Victoria, Dec 1 . Homicide Squad detectives have this afternoon arrested a man following the fatal assault of a woman in Northcote last night.
A 52-year-old Northcote man has been taken into custody and will now be interviewed by police.
The arrest follows an incident where emergency services were called to a residence on Brickworks Lane after the body of a 51-year-old woman was located by a family member shortly before 8pm.
Police believe the parties were known to each other.
