Victoria Dec 18 “In the journey of life we learn from others naturally. As children, we imitate our parents. As teenagers, we look to our peers for inspiration. When it comes to the business world and real estate in particular, finding the right mentor can make all the difference”, says Victoria based Property Coach Atul Jhamb. Let’s learn more about the profession from him.
How did you start off as a Property Coach ?
Mr. Atul : The interest towards property handling started during the days when I bought my first property. In the process, I myself did rigorous research and also came in contact with a number of property dealers and real estate agents who poured in their suggestions. Their way of work and lifestyle fascinated me to know more about the industry. Further studies and network in the market gave me a kickstart in the endeavour. Gradually it has turned into a passion that has become a source of income as well as happiness.
How do you help your customers ?
Mr. Atul : I provide my customers with multiple perspectives culled from years of experience to help avoid the pitfalls and reap benefits. I introduce customers to new contacts, potential buyers, and supportive allies in the industry and the community who can become an excellent source of referrals. In the Property dealing journey of my customer I try to become his one stop solution. I am satisfied only after the deal is successfully closed.
Are the soaring interest rates affecting the business now?
Mr. Atul : Yes, presently the market is slow. But as I have experienced for a few years now, the real estate market works in a cycle . Next 6 months will be tough for us but the anticipation is, after that the market will open up and business prospects will grow.
Any hint on returns in this line of business?
Mr. Atul : Look, it is tough to stay afloat in this line of business. It demands years of experience and continuous hard work. It’s not a 9 – 5 job that will give you a steady income, it is commission based. In this context I must say, if you are dedicated enough and continuously upgrade yourself with all the requirements, “Sky is the limit”.
Any suggestion for new entrants in this line of business
Mr. Atul : As a mentor I always help beginners avoid common mistakes and give advice from my own experiences. I always suggest they go through the real estate journals, join the relevant Facebook groups. Even I have a dedicated Facebook page named ‘property Insight’ where I update important industry information for new entrants. And above everything is the trust factor which once acquired works like magic in the industry.
