After an off-field incident at a local soccer match, Premier Mark McGowan has criticized sports fans.
During the match between Mandurah City and Rockingham City football clubs, a Rockingham fan threw a beer bottle at a Mandurah player, with volunteers and security attempting to hold him back.
The Premier suggested alcohol may have played a role in the incident, and urged everyone to behave appropriately. Earlier in the same match, play was halted when an emergency flare was thrown onto the field.
