Melbourne Nov 29 (TIE)Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a stabbing at a sporting venue in Altona North over the weekend.
The incident occurred at a basketball match at the Doherty’s Road address just after 8.30pm on Sunday 28 November.
Police have been told a group of men attended the venue and a fight broke out between the men and match organisers.
A 22-year-old Werribee man sustained stab wounds to his upper body and was taken to hospital where he remains with non-life-threatening injuries.
A second man aged 22 from Werribee was also treated on scene by paramedics.
Investigators believe a number of people were at the venue at the time of the incident and are keen to speak to any witnesses.
