Sydney, (TIE). Schools in the greater Sydney area will be returning to remote learning this week as the Delta strain of COVID-19 continues to spread. A Monash University expert is available to provide advice to parents supporting children at home. Professor Andrea Reupert, Professor of Educational Psychology and Inclusive Education at Monash University said “Parents need to go easy on themselves and their kids as they juggle work and family commitments during lockdown. “You can schedule your days around certain activities but at the same time be flexible and forgiving of yourselves and your kids if the schedule falls away. “Spend some quality, enjoyable time with your kids every day without phones to help kids feel secure and then (hopefully) happy to entertain themselves. “When focusing on paid work, you may need to work in short, productive bursts and ‘snatch’ time when you can. Even in isolation, it’s a good idea to still socialise with other parents online, to vent, debrief and pick up useful tips.
