Preston 21 June,2022(TIE)Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an attempted abduction at Lysterfield Lake on Saturday afternoon.

A 36-year-old woman was on a walk through the Churchill National Park after parking at the Army Track main car park.

While travelling east along the North Boundary Track, prior to Stonemasons Track, she was approached from behind by a man about 4.15pm.

The man grabbed her around the waist and put a hand over her mouth, attempting to drag her to the ground.

The Dandenong North woman managed to struggle free and run from the area where she called Triple Zero (000).

She was not physically injured during the incident.

Detectives have released a computer-generated image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived to be African in appearance, about 183cm tall, aged between 20-40 years old and was wearing a grey beanie and grey jumper.
